【国際コース】デイヴィッド・パデュー領事による特別授業開催！

On March 17, first and second-year students in the International Course attended a special lecture by David Perdue, Consul at the Canadian Consulate in Nagoya.

Before Consul Perdue's lecture, two second-year International Course students gave presentations about their homestay and study tour experiences in Vancouver, Canada last year. Consul Perdue praised the students for their excellent English ability and strong presentation skills.
Consul Perdue delivered an engaging and informative lecture. Students learned about the history of relations between Japan and Canada, as well as Canada's immigration policies and how they have shaped the country into a multicultural society. He also offered valuable advice on studying abroad.

It was a highly informative and inspiring event, and we were very fortunate to have Consul Perdue share his time and insights with our students.

3月17日（火）、中京大学名古屋キャンパス清明ホールにて、名古屋カナダ領事館のデイヴィッド・パデュー領事による特別授業が行われ、本校国際コースの1・2年生が参加しました！
パデュー領事は、カナダ政府を代表し、名古屋を中心とする中部地方における対日関係および交流の促進に取り組んでおられる外交官で、2021年8月より在名古屋カナダ領事館に着任されています。
これまで中部地区において、教育・文化・ビジネス分野の交流イベントにも積極的に参加し、カナダの魅力や両国間の協力関係について広く発信してこられました。今回のご訪問は、生徒にとって国際理解を深める貴重な機会となりました。

本校国際コースでは、2年次に約2か月間のカナダ留学を実施していますが、すでに留学を終えた2年生、そして来年度に留学を控える1年生の双方から、有意義な学びを得られたとの声が多く聞かれました。外交官を志す1年生からは、「カナダの歴史や現在の外交、また日本との関係について理解を深めることができた」との感想が寄せられ、留学を経験した2年生からは、カナダの移民政策について鋭い質問が挙がりました。

特別授業の後半には、パデュー領事から国際コースの生徒へメッセージをいただきました。生徒たちも大いに刺激を受けた様子でした。
今後もこの貴重な学びを生かし、生徒たちが国際社会の一員として成長し続けることを期待しています。
