【国際コース】第33回愛知県高等学校英語スピーチコンテスト地区予選会　結果！

On Saturday, the 19th of September, 2 students from 2J, the International Course, took part in an English speech contest. There were 33 competitors from many different schools and backgrounds. Several of them had lived overseas and all of them had a passion for English. All the students had to make an original speech lasting between 4 and half minutes and 5 and a half minutes. The topics covered were varied and entertaining. Topics included- gender equality, discrimination, foreign experiences, and personal journeys.
Noah wrote about the power of sports and how it helped him in both his life overseas and once he returned to Japan. It was a powerful speech about how sports can help us form relationships and overcome challenges. Nico wrote about the environment and recycling, a passion close to his heart. Both students practiced so hard for many weeks and did their best performance ever. Noah, despite stiff competition, was awarded 3rd place and a chance to advance to the next stage of the competition. Congratulations to both Noah and Nico for their fantastic speeches and hard work. We are very proud of them.

　9月19日（土）、本校国際コース2年生の生徒2名が、愛知県立旭丘高等学校で開催された第33回愛知県高等学校英語スピーチコンテスト地区予選会（名瀬地区）に出場しました。
当日は、さまざまな高校から33名の生徒が参加し、ジェンダー平等や差別、海外での経験、これまでの人生での経験など、多様なテーマについて、約5分間の英語スピーチを披露しました。

　本校から出場した阿岸希空さんは、「The Invisible Hammer（一歩、また一歩）」というタイトルのもと、スポーツが人生に与える力について、自身の海外生活や帰国後の経験を交えながらスピーチを行いました。スポーツを通してさまざまな困難を乗り越えてきた経験を力強く語り、見事3位に輝きました！

　佐藤仁厚さんは、「The 20% Illusion: Rethinking Japan's Recycling Rate（「20%」の誤解：日本が選んだもう一つのエネルギー戦略）」をテーマにスピーチを披露しました。日本のリサイクル率についての考察から始まり、環境問題にとどまらない幅広いメッセージを伝えました。聴衆の皆さんも佐藤さんのスピーチに引き込まれ、熱心に耳を傾けていました！

　2名とも本番に向けて夏休み前から熱心に練習を重ね、本番ではその成果を十分に発揮し、堂々とした素晴らしいスピーチを披露することができました！これからの活躍も楽しみにしています。
