【国際コース】夏の2日間特別体験プログラム！Let's discover the World together!

The students from the English Course had a fantastic chance to take part in a special event for two days. They could meet and study with international students from around the world. There were 12 international students in total.
The international students came from a variety of countries including- Vietnam, Mongolia, France, Iran, South Africa, Ecuador and more. A truly international mix. For 2 days they worked in small groups, 6 Chukyo students with 1 international student. They also got a chance to meet and talk to almost all of the international students during the 2 days.
What a chance to learn about different cultures, countries, food, lifestyles, opinions and more! Also, they truly had the chance to hear many kinds of English from all four corners of the world. What an experience!
For 2 days, students had to speak English from start to finish. What a super chance they have had to improve their English!
We did a huge variety of activities including- country introductions, unique points of the international students' countries, comparing their country and Japan, making a role play in front of everyone and a final presentation which involved research outside of school- the charm and beauty of Japan and the international students' home countries, including differences and surprising discoveries.
We asked the Chukyo students what they thought, they said many positive things including-
"Amazing"
"Brilliant"
"What a valuable chance"
"I could see the importance of English as an international language."

7月30日・31日の2日間、国際コース1,2年生がトモノカイ主催の「異文化理解ワークショップ」に参加しました。
1・2年生の混合グループで協力しながら、世界各国の留学生とあらゆるテーマについて話し合いました。日々学んでいる英語を使う実践の場として、「言いたいことをうまく伝えられない！」という状況に悪戦苦闘しながらも、一生懸命試行錯誤しながら留学生と交流する姿が見られました。
1日目は、各国のコミュニケーションスタイルの違いを学び、ロールプレイで自ら体験・体感することで、異文化間のコミュニケーションのコツや、「当たり前」は一つだけではないことを学びました。
2日目は、1日目に学んだ日本と海外の「当たり前」をフィールドワークでさらに体感し、写真や演劇を交えてプレゼンテーションを作成して発表しました。
この2日間の特別プログラムを通して、異文化間の違いを「間違い」ではなく「新たな発見」として楽しむ感覚を学び、枠にとらわれない自由な発想で、自分の意見を表現することの楽しさやコツを体得することができたようです。
「2日間ひたすら英語漬けで、とても疲れたけど楽しかった！」「普段授業で学んでいることを実践できた気がした」「英語を学ぶことが楽しいと改めて思った！」など、国際コースの生徒たちもさらに英語学習へのモチベーションを高めることができたようです。
成長目覚ましい国際コースの生徒たち、我々教員もあらゆるプロジェクトを提供しながら見守っていきます！
