【国際コース】米国領事館首席領事との交流会

United States Consulate of Nagoya Event

Chukyo to the World.
Friday 19th November We were incredibly lucky to meet the Principal Officer of the Untied States of America's Nagoya Consulate. 17 students from the International Course, from all grades, had the chance to meet Mr. Matthew Cenzer face to face and discuss both local and global issues in English. The issues we talked about were- "The Necessity of English." "Education in Japan and the U.S" "Discrimination." "Gender Equality." "LGBTQ Rights." And more.
Chukyo students took an extremely active role in a lively discussion expressing their opinions and asking interesting as well as thought provoking questions. What a great chance to meet, discuss with, and listen to, a top U.S. diplomat.
I asked some of the students what they thought about the event, and they said it was very exciting, but wanted more time to talk to him.
Mr. Cenzer made some extremely positive comments about the school and the students.
"This seems a really good school to come to."
"I was surprised that your students' English was so good, that they were actively asking questions and that they showed a strong interest in social/ global issues."

11月19日(金)、名古屋米国領事館マシュー・センザー首席領事が来校して、国際コースの1～3年の17名の生徒とディスカッションを行いました。ディスカッションのテーマは、「英語の必要性」、「アメリカと日本の教育」、「差別」、「ジェンダー」など多岐に渡りました。全て英語で、質問をしたり意見を言ったりと、アメリカ外交官との貴重な時間を有意義に過ごすことができました。
「面白くて、もっと話したかった」と、終了後生徒は口にしていました。
また、マシュー・センザー氏も、本校国際英語コースの英語力の高さに驚き、ディスカッションで幅広い分野に生徒たちが興味を持っていることに感心してくださりました。
