【国際コース】キャリア講演会

On Friday the 7th of February the 1st and 2nd grade International Course students took part in a very special event. Two graduates from our school came to talk about their fantastic life experiences. Yukako Clarke graduated in 2009 and studied at the University of Central Florida in America. After working with Universal Creative, she joined Walt Disney Imagineering Japan to help develop a new area at Tokyo DisneySea. Now she is once again back at Universal Creative, developing new entertainment experiences for USJ. She told us about the exciting work she has done, how she got her jobs and how English helped her achieve her dreams. Hitomi Sato, who graduated in 2008, talked about her volunteer work in Thailand for students who were victims of human trafficking. She got this chance through JICA- The Japan International Cooperation Agency. She has also worked as an English teacher.
Listening to these stories from ex-students, who graduated from our school, and have used English in their careers and made a difference in the world has inspired us all to go for our dreams. Dreams Come True If YOU Make Them Happen.
Chukyo to the World 2025.

　2月7日（金）、国際コースの1・2年生が「キャリア探究プログラム」キャリア講演会に参加し、本校を卒業して異なる分野で活躍している2人の卒業生の方から貴重なお話を伺う機会を得ました。講演者の1人である2008年本校卒業の佐藤仁美さんは、大学卒業後に名古屋市の公立中学校で英語教員として勤めた後、JICAより青年海外協力隊としてタイに派遣されました。現在は広島大学大学院にて国際教育について研究を進めています。今日の講演では、人身売買の被害にあった人たちのためにタイのシェルターで働いていた経験を通して、貧困が売春や児童労働などの問題に繋がっているという現状について話して下さいました。
　もう1人の講演者であるクラーク由香子さんは2009年に本校を卒業し、アメリカのセントラルフロリダ大学への留学などを経てユニバーサル・クリエイティブに就職。その後、東京ディズニーシーの新エリア開発に関わったのち、現在はユニバーサルクリエイティブに戻り、USJの新規開発プロジェクトに携わっています。大きな夢を叶えるために、高校卒業後どのようにして少しずつ自分の夢に近づいていったのか、そのために大切なことなどについて話して下さいました。
　本校を卒業し、世界各地で国際的に活躍している先輩たちの話は、生徒たちにとっても大きな刺激になったようです。この経験をきっかけに自分の将来について前向きに考え、失敗や不安を恐れず様々なことに挑戦していってもらいたいです。
